HDBR Out and About

Centre for Biomedical Engineering Summer Meeting. The Core, Newcastle Helix


Moira Crosier, HDBR experimental scientific officer, attended the Centre for Biomedical Engineering Summer Meeting which took place at The Core, Newcastle Helix, on 21 June 2023 and represented the HDBR with a stand and poster advertising the services HDBR can provide to increase visibility cross discipline at Newcastle University and also to attending private enterprises. The visit was a success and HDBR have been invited to give a more formal and detailed talk at the next meeting.

The meeting had scientific content talks with titles of:
Kenny Dalgarno: New EC research project, REBORN (Remodelling of the Infarcted Heart: Piezoelectric Multifunctional Patch Enabling the Sequential Release of Therapeutic Factors)
Georgios Gerardos: GNRI-Biomed: Developing new technologies for Sepsis diagnosis
David Cousins: The Centre for In Vivo Imaging focussing on the brain
 
The meeting had updates for activities within Newcastle Helix with titles:
David Kirk: Openlab and Digital Healthcare Hubs
James Woltmann: Newcastle Health Innovation Neighbourhood
