HDBR Out and About

HDBR Team at Newcastle's Life Science Centre 25th Anniversary Event

The HDBR team recently took part in a public engagement event hosted by Newcastle's Life Science Centre to celebrate its 25th anniversary. The event spotlighted cutting-edge scientific research conducted at the International Centre for Life.

We had the pleasure of engaging with hundreds of attendees, sharing insights into early human development and showcasing 3D-printed organ models from the HDBR Atlas website.
One of the most popular activities was "Spot the Human," where visitors were shown images of early embryos from various species, including chick and mouse embryos, and challenged to identify the human one. Both adults and children were surprised by how similar they all looked.

The day was a great success, and we hope our visitors left with a deeper understanding of how human life develops at its earliest stages. We also hope to have sparked the imaginations of future scientists!
